Like his other "marbleware" pieces, Tim's clocks are created by melting marbles in a clay frame in the kiln. A pattern is laid out beforehand, but what happens in the kiln as the glass moves is always a surprise, resulting in a truly unique piece each time. To attach the numbers to the face, as well as for safety and aesthetic reasons, these clocks use the same epoxy coating, which can sometimes be damaged if stored in below freezing temperatures for an extended period. They run on a single AA battery.
